Dr. Jean Hulbert, DC, LAC

Dr. Jean Hulbert has been practicing chiropractic and acupuncture since 1995. She received her doctorate in chiropractic from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minnesota, and attended a three year master's level program in acupuncture at the Minnesota Institute of Acupuncture and Herbal Studies. She is the only provider in South Central Alaska with professional licenses in both chiropractic and acupuncture. Having the perspectives of both professions informs her treatment of patients whether she is providing chiropractic care or acupuncture, and the two disciplines compliment each other when combined in a session.

Dr. Hulbert loves helping people "get back in the game" so they can live their most ideal life. Although pain relief is a primary reason patients seek chiropractic and acupuncture treatment, Dr Hulbert finds her work effective in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive disorders, allergies, asthma, menstrual irregularities, and infertility. Her practice is family oriented and she enjoys providing chiropractic care and gentle acupuncture treatments for children.
Dr Hulbert grew up in Anchorage and spent much of her childhood hiking, skiing, camping, kayaking and beach combing in remote areas of Alaska with her adventurous family. She now enjoys daily adventures around Anchorage and beyond with her yellow lab, Phoebe.

JENNIFER NIEVES

Jennifer started her professional career in Social Work in a variety of capacities including working with chronic homeless street inebriates, as the State Director for a National drop-out prevention program and as the Executive Director of a local Food Pantry.  Jennifer also gave her time to serve on several governing Boards such as the Association of the United States Army, the Alaska Food Coalition and Ma'o Tosi's PRIDE Program.  After 15 years in Social Services Jennifer started a career in Real Estate where she became an Associate Broker and ran the Sales and Leasing Division of a local Brokerage; finishing her Real Estate Career as the Academy Director and Compliance Officer for one of the top Brokerages in Anchorage.  Jennifer then took two years to live her dream of being a Private Gardener and actually got paid to play in the dirt all day long!  The only thing that could top such a position was being asked to manage the office at Sundog Wellness!
Jennifer's natural organizational skills and attention to detail have made her an invaluable member of the Sundog team. She has taken on learning the ins and outs of the health insurance world and become adept at checking benefits, requesting authorizations and communicating with our billing service regarding  claims and reimbursement.

Jennifer is happily married and the parent of seven children; four of which are adopted and three are natural born.  Jennifer continues to garden around her home and for a select few clients, she enjoys cooking and baking, reading and sometimes doing absolutely nothing!

Raised by two southern hippies on a small farm in Sutton, AK, Jennifer was taught to love and care for all people that cross her path.  She has a tender, caring nature and is happy to assist all the patients of Sundog Wellness.
